Precision Finding.
With the introduction of iOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2, second- and third-generation Siri Remotes can now be tracked through the Find My app. Previously, since iOS 17, there was an option to locate a lost Siri Remote using an iPhone, but the remotes themselves did not appear in the Find My app. Users had to rely on the Apple TV Remote widget in the Control Center, making this option less accessible.
Now, supported Siri Remotes are listed in the Find My app alongside other devices, providing a more intuitive experience for iOS and macOS users. With the upcoming fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, Apple is introducing a speaker and Precision Finding feature to the Siri Remote, which will make it easier to locate when misplaced. Older remotes lack the ability to play sound and do not include Precision Finding.
When the fourth-generation Apple TV was announced, Apple indicated that Find My support would be available for the second-generation Siri Remote and later, and this functionality is now live. To see Siri Remotes in the Find My app, users need to have iOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2 installed. After updating to tvOS 27.2, users may need to wait for new firmware to be delivered to the Siri Remote before it appears in Find My.
